FGC develops an annual calendar prior to the beginning of each fiscal year in accordance with Florida Administrative Code (FAC) Rule 6A-10.019 . The calendar emphasizes important dates and deadlines. The calendar is published on the college website , in the Student Handbook , and in the college catalog . Printed copies of the academic calendar are available from the Registrar’s Office. The academic calendar in the Student Handbook is in a format that students can use as a day planner. Information about the contents of the academic calendar is available from the Registrar’s Office web page link, Important Information from the Registrar’s Office . The importance of the academic calendar is also included as part of the New Student Advising and Registration, First Time in College (FTIC) student orientation presentation and in the online Orientation Video. The orientation video is posted on the website and on YouTube. Approximately 500 students per year attend the face to face orientation provided by the advising office. Distance learning students can obtain information from the college website, the online Orientation Video or by contacting the advising office through email or telephone. The advising office will conduct face to face meetings with students with a webcam if requested.
FGC publishes grading policies in the college catalog . The Student Handbook informs students that the instructor of record has the sole responsibility of assignment of grades, establishes the grading scale, and must publish it in the course syllabus. The course syllabus is distributed to students at the beginning of the term for each class. Grading information is included in the online Orientation Video and in the FTIC mandatory orientation referenced above. Grading information is also available on the Registrar’s Office web pages . Information on dropping classes, “W” vs “F” grades and “I” grades is available from the Registrar’s Office web page link, Important Information from the Registrar’s Office referenced above.

Refund information for financial aid recipients is published on the Financial Aid Office webpage.
